Keeping Up with 'Kontemporary' Art

Are you having trouble keeping up with art today? Look no further! Here is a list of 10 Ways you can stay current in the Contemporary Art world.

.)   Museum of Contemporary Art (Santa Barbara) – This, of course, is specific to location, but many major cities have contemporary art museums! By attending the exhibitions put on by the museum, viewers will be introduced and exposed to what artists are currently interested in and creating directly. This is a very efficient and typically crowd-pleasing way of looking at contemporary art; it is relatively affordable and easy to get to.
.)   La Biennale, Venice – Though this art fair may be a bit more elite and perhaps less crowd-pleasing, this event is where most praised up-and-coming artists can exhibit their work and receive a plethora of well-respected critique.
.)   16 Miles of String – An online art magazine that follows more formal art criticism for the contemporary arts. (Also based in New York).
.)   Art Sucks – A satirical but very entertaining and informative blog about contemporary art in New York City.
.)   Arts Journal – A website that is a digest of the best arts and cultural journalism. They pull articles from English-speaking newspapers, magazines, etc. that are informative and are about arts & culture.
.)   Art F City – Voted “New York’s Best Art Blog,” Art F City is an archival website that presents about nine years of commentary and essay by artists and about artists in New York. This blog is directed towards younger readers and is easy to understand and follow.
.)   Art & Education; Art Forum - Distributes information about some of the world’s most important contemporary art exhibitions, publications, and symposia taking place within educational contexts, as well as academic employment positions available in the visual arts.
.)   ARTnews – Founded in 1902, Art News is the oldest and widely circulated art magazine in the world. It is published 11 times a year, in several languages, and reports and art-related happenings internationally.
.)   Scope – Over 65 art fairs in a decade, Scope is the largest and most global art fair in the world.

.)                  Blouin Art Info - The preeminent global source for up-to-the-minute news, information, and expert commentary on art, artists, and the business and pleasure of making, buying, and understanding art.
