In a culture obsessed with sugary drinks and snacks, Holland uses the sweet stuff as her material for sculpture. Inspired by the Minimalists she makes planes of colored sugar and then she might encapsulates them in a protective coating or lets them melt. She also works with crushed sugar pieces creating fields of color in the gallery.
