Lilian van Daal 3-D Printing is the Technology of 21st century Design

LILIAN VAN DAAL: This chair is not yet in production, but the designer is working on how to incorporate softness into 3-D printing. She takes her inspiration from nature. Van Daal uses “Biomimicry" -- forms she finds in nature translated by a 3D Printer into nylon. With this chair she borrowed from cell-like forms to create both softness for the feel of the chair and rigidness for structures.
